When Bailey of Sheffield contacted me to invite me along to an evening of cocktails and meeting some amazing people behind some amazing brands i jumped at the chance! It was being held at The Botanist; one of my favourite new places in Sheffield - Super cute and cosy and filled with cocktails, what more could you want?
On arrival, we were greeted and given a name badge - i love this because i'm really rubbish at remembering people's names and usually only recognise people by their Twitter or Blog name! I immediately got chatting to some fellow Sheffield bloggers while waiting for the chance to grab a cocktail. I went for an Apricot & Peach Smash and as the description said - it was very very easy to drink and filled with Bourbon. I could gladly spend my evening drinking this.
Once everyone had a drink, Scott Bailey from Bailey of Sheffield gave us an introduction to the evening and what we could expect and then we were off to chat and find out more about the brands which had come along to showcase their products.
Bailey of Sheffield is a jewellery company which creates jewellery out of steel which is engineered to last for a lifetime. Bracelets made out of steel cable and intricate beads to personalise them were what caught my attention. Such a different take on jewellery and especially relevant being based in the Steel City of Sheffield itself! I think they are perfect for the men in your life as a unique gift but the rose gold bracelet has really caught my eye so there is something for everyone. They also gave me a bead engraved with my blog logo on it, which i was amazed at. Now just got to get someone to splash out on that Rose Gold bracelet i like....
They also had some amazing little christmas trees and snowflakes made out of steel which i was quite taken with. I think they would make a great little addition to my flat at this time of year.
Wandering around i came across a cute stand with some amazingly pretty lingerie on display. Lucy May designs lingerie that can be worn both in and out of the bedroom and to allow you to feel indulged and self confident while wearing them. Just looking at them was enough to give me all the envy. Browsing through i made a promise to myself that i would definitely update my wardrobe next year. I want that matching underwear feeling everyday!
I love my lip balm. My bag is always always always filled with several different types of lip balm so when i saw the Albus & Flora stand, i immediately headed over to find out more. Rachel Williams founded this lip balm product while in the mountains and was inspired by all the amazing fresh ingredients around her. This lip balm melts onto the lips and you can immediately feel it coating your lips but it isn't sticky which is perfect for me especially at this time of the year when my lips get really dry. I also really loved the Sheer Flora balm which had a hint of colour because i'm not really a lipstick kind of person on an everyday basis. I've been addicted to using these ever since this event!
A little more about each of these brands can be found via the links above!
There were so many other people that i didn't get to speak to at this event due to running out of time but i took away a lot of business cards and information on them to read up on in the future such as Oliver Brian Video Productions, S20 Media, Sentinel Brewing Company, Locksley Distilling Company, The Wing Kings (Sheffield Soul Food) and The Yorkshire Soap Company!
So many amazing companies, i'm already looking forward to the next event!
